The air handler circulates the chilled air through the vents and pulls room air out of the house with powerful blowers. In some of our systems, the air handler and coil are combined in a single cabinet in others, all three components are independent, but in any configuration, the components are matched as a team for peak efficiency. There are three components in a split system: It is by far the most common type of HVAC system in use today. Split SystemsĪ split system means that part of the equipment is outside the home (the condenser/compressor) and part is inside the home (air handler and evaporating coil). The exterior on all units is made from high-grade steel that has been shown to stand up to salt spray tests amazingly well. The roar of a churning backyard condenser can be annoying, but Goodman condensers have sound-dampening construction that keeps the noise level below 75 dBs, as good if not better than pricier systems. A 13 SEER or even a Goodman 3.5-ton 14 SEER would make an ideal solution for homes across the northern tier of states, but for southern and western states, you would need a higher rating, like 16 SEER, which is more energy efficient for hotter climates. Our line of condensers begins with an efficiency rating of 13 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating), with SEER being a measurement of a HVAC system’s cooling efficiency. A 3.5-ton Goodman air conditioning system with a properly-sized condenser/compressor can cool a small house with a lot of extras or a medium-sized house in an ideal climate. They can be configured to meet various needs in terms of home size, room size and prevailing weather conditions. Goodman condensers are built to provide consistently reliable service year after year.
